Monday Manicure Minute ♡ China Glaze ♡

Happy Monday! And happy November! Where does the time go?? This week features a brand I haven't yet blogged about. I went shopping the other day and bought a butt load of nail polish (naturally). Here's one of the ones I bought!

One of my favourite brands is China Glaze and when I saw this pretty polish on sale, I couldn't say no. Now, I know what you're thinking, if China Glaze is (one of) your favourite brands, why don't you own a thousand? Well, simply put, China Glaze is hard to find where I live... So typically if I go to a salon to get my nails done, I opt for China Glaze! Okay, enough defending myself and this brand... On to the colour!

This polish colour was hard to capture on camera as it either looked too green or too blue but just know, in your heart, it's a very true turquoise.

China Glaze also always has the best names for their colours. This one, in this case, is called Turned Up Turquoise. How funny!

This colour is very pigmented and the true colour could easily be achieved with one coat of polish (but you all know I'm psycho and always do three.) The formula is also (mostly) great! I say mostly because, the consistency of this polish is amazing; it's not too liquid-y or too goop-y. It's perfect. However... The strangest thing happened after I put the first coat on my left hand and let it dry... The polish dried matte... Which is really cool!! And hip!! So in style!! But... The polish isn't supposed to be/dry matte. This polish claimed to have "hardeners" in it... but would that cause it to dry matte? I don't know. I have only ever had one other polish dry matte that wasn't supposed to and it was just a cheapie brand from the dollar store. So, like I said, I'm not sure if it's the hardeners that were added or WHAT but just know.. it was odd. Do you own this colour? Is yours matte? Anyway, simple fix, just use a nice shiny top coat after.

I took photos both of my nails with and without a top coat so you could see what I am talking about!

As you can see the top coat really makes this polish pop! It also brings out the slight shimmer within the polish. Besides the nail polish starting out matte, the only real other "problem" I have with this polish is it chips SO EASILY. Just hours after painting my nails it started chipping. It looks like I've been wearing this polish for a week! Now, I don't know if it's the top coat I used or if it's actually the polish it's self but I'm disappointed! I really hate when my polish chips. I'm OCD. Next time I use this colour I will opt for a different top coat and see what kind of results I get!

I still would definitely recommend China Glaze, despite the mild matte hiccup!
