♡ Fall 2014 LUSH Hair Regime ♡

As you may (or may not) know... I am growing out my hair! I have been dying my hair for as long as I can remember and I heat style it like crazy! One day I decided my hair needed a break... I stopped dying it and let the dye grow out and I have been working really hard on not using heat-styling products to help protect my hair! I am working towards making it strong and healthy again! I have been growing my hair out for almost two years now (it'll be the "official" two years in December) and I even have a blog post on dry shampoo (click HERE) so you can pick the right dry shampoo for you! (Dry shampoo allows you to go longer between washing your hair! Sometimes it's good to give your hair a break... over-washing can be damaging and dry your hair/scalp out! Yuck!)

Now, unfortunately, simply not dying or heat-styling my hair isn't enough to bring it back to life.. It needs a little extra somethin' somethin'! That's where great hair products come in handy! My main "problem" areas are: dryness, split-ends and frizziness! All the shampoos and conditioners I try to use are moisturizing and/or repairing (see HERE where I talk about John Frieda's shampoo/conditioner). All of the post-shower products I use are anti-frizz and moisture rich. Anything to help my hair stay soft and feel replenished! A lot of products dry out your hair... Make sure you're reading labels!

Recently I stopped in at my local Lush and purchased some hair care products. The things I grabbed are as follows...

Left: Fairly Traded Honey Shampoo / Right: American Cream Conditioner / Below: Sample-size Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Eaze Hair Treatment

Both the shampoo and conditioner will help repair my damaged hair! If you have dry, dyed and/or damaged hair, these products would be great for you!

Honey is an amazing beauty product as it's packed full of "the good stuff"! Pictured above (on the right), the Fairly Traded Honey is a moisture-rich shampoo. Lush says, "Our preservative-free honey shampoo gives lustre, volume and moisturization to everyone's hair." And above on the left is the American Cream conditioner; "have the flowing, shiny locks you've always dreamt of with this strawberry vanilla milkshake conditioner." Both products smell exactly as you'd imagine; the honey shampoo smells and has the consistency of honey and the conditioner smells like vanilla strawberry and has the consistency of a hand lotion.

Fairly Traded Honey Shampoo

How to use: Work gently through wet hair for lather, then rinse away for lustrous locks.

Top tip: No need to wear perfume when washing with this fragrant shampoo!

American Cream Conditioner

How to use: Use on clean wet hair. Apply plentifully, then rinse away.

Top tip: The vanilla and diary sage fragrance lasts in the hair for hours.

I don't know about you, but it's very rare that I ONLY use shampoo... With that being said, I can't imagine someone using Fairly Traded Honey and not needing perfume afterward. What I'm trying to say is, by the time I'm done showering, I can't smell my shampoo anymore simply because I've used conditioner and post-shower hair products since! It seems to mask the shampoo smell. Though it does smell lovely! The American Cream smells like delicious vanilla and strawberry (without smelling like candy or sugar), it's very soft and sweet. Both products leave my hair feeling hydrated and soft!

While I was at Lush, the associates working suggested I try out the Jasmine/Henna hair mask! They hooked me up with two sample sizes!

I have never used a hair mask before so I was excited to try this one out! This is the Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Eaze Hair Treatment! It smells... like jasmine and henna... There really is no other way to describe it... It has a creamy texture and doesn't leave your hair feeling heavy or greasy. Simple to use: rub it between your fingers and throughout your dry, un-washed hair, leave in your hair for 10+ minutes, shower as usual and rinse out, wash hair as usual. So before I hopped in the shower this afternoon I put this hair mask on and left it in for about 30 minutes. Once you wash it out in the shower you already get that silky hair feeling... Your hair feels soft and slimy in the shower (I love this feeling!).

Another Lush product that I have been using to help repair my hair is not something I purchased recently but something I have definitely been using a lot!

The R&B Hair Moisturizer is amazing for dry/damaged hair. If you don't use "special" shampoo, simply using this product after you shower will make a world of a difference! It smells floral and soft and doesn't weigh your hair down or leave it feeing or looking greasy! Perfect! Lush says, "[This is] a rich leave-in moisturizer to revive and balance dry or curly hair." As it mentions, also great for curly hair! (As curly hair is typically on the dryer side.)

Creamy texture and definitely NOT sticky (I hate sticky hair products.. ew)

After using this product I instantly find my hair feels soft and replenished! If you have dry or curly hair this product is a must-have!

I will let you know what I think of these products as I continue to use them! So far I have had and have seen amazing results and, for hair at least, I really believe natural is the way to go! What you get out of your hair directly reflects what you put in it!

Happy hair repairing!
