Monday Manicure Minute
(I realize it is Tuesday but yesterday escaped me. Sometimes there really aren't enough hours in the day, you know?? Moving along...!)
So every Monday (from this day forward) I am going to post about my current manicure situation! I am extremely addicted to nail polish (admitting you have a problem is the first step) and I am constantly changing the colour/length/shape of my nails! This post will also encourage me to use all my different colours in my collection... I have a bad case of picking favourites when it comes to colours... I can't help it, okay!!?? **This is a judgement free zone!!** So every Sunday when I paint my nails, I will have a new manicure blog post for you all on Monday! Hooray!!
Let's get started...
Where to buy: Urban Outfitters
Price: Unfortunately this was gifted to me!
As I mentioned above, I received this set as a birthday gift from my roommate! She purchased it from Urban Outfitters in store as I do not believe they sell this kit online (upon further investigation; I searched the site, this is not sold online!)
Here's what it looks like upon un-boxing:
The sparkle flecks in the gold foil, as you can probably tell, are what I like to call "party" sparkles. I call them this because they are fun and all different colours!! Now, the combination I decided to try this time was the light blue with the gold foil.
Here is a closer look at those two:
And the adhesive...
Now moving along to more technical things.... The instructions. My roommate bought the same kit (how could one resist) and used it before I had a chance to use mine and she was explaining to me that how the foil works is confusing... She was right... But don't fret!! It wasn't that bad. It took one messed up nail to figure out how it works!
The instructions are pretty straight forward (and next time I'll take photos) but the confusing part of the foil was 1) placing the foil on my nail shiny side up (don't I want the shiny stuff on my nails?) and 2) how hard do I need to press the foil on my nail and how long do I need to wait?
Now, explaining how placing the foil shiny side up works is difficult in text... Just listen to the instructions on that one... But the amount of pressure you should put on your nail, from experience, is quite a bit. Firmly rub the foil onto your nail and wait about 10-15 seconds. Then slowly peel the foil off. Your nail will have gold sparkly foil flecks!
